OUR STORY
What We’re All About
Think. Reason. Question. Experiment. These are just a few of the skills and qualities that children will develop at Wee Bairns Infant Care Centre. Since our founding over 30 years ago, we’ve focused on supporting kids during the earliest phase of childhood.
The centre was created through joint participation of the River East Transcona School Division, the Department of Education, the Department of Community Services, Child & Family Services and operates under the guidelines established by Early Learning and Child Care as a non-profit organization.
A Board of Directors made up of representatives from the River East Transcona School Division, Murdoch MacKay Collegiate Administration, Parents of the infants in care and members of the community directs Wee Bairns Infant Care Centre. The Director of the facility administers the day-to-day operations. Our full-time staff are all trained Early Childhood Educators and have many years of experience in our centre.
We offer wide variety of interesting, fun activities and our summer season is packed with field trips, outings and special visitors. Gym, crafts and cooking are regular activities in our program.
Wee Bairns Infant Care Centre adheres to a holistic approach of early childhood education. When we expose children to different environments and various learning experiences, we allow them to explore their self-awareness and gain a sense of the world around them. Once they leave our Daycare, they’re fully prepared for the next stage of their young lives.
